Mummy Moments Journal

The idea for this journal came about after a very stressful, emotional and tiring 2 years living with a child that didn’t sleep and was constantly sick. My first child – Eliot – is almost 5 and was a dream baby and still is a fabulous wee boy. My second child – Lucy – is just over 2 and she is the complete opposite! She had silent reflux as a baby and was always in pain, miserable, screaming, and never slept. She would often be ill – bronchiolitis, tummy bugs, temperatures, ear infections, tonsillitis – you name it, she has had it. On top of all of this, she would never sleep more than 30 or 40 minutes – ever!

There have been many tears - from both Lucy and myself! Dealing with this type of child on a day-to-day basis can be a very hallowing and lonely experience. I kept a journal when Lucy was younger, writing in it most nights about the woes of the day. I admit that many of my entries from the early months were sad and depressed but having a place to vent, I believe, made me better able to deal with the next day. Or even just the next hour!

It got me thinking that perhaps this idea of ‘a journal for Mums’ might be something that others could benefit from. There are plenty of Mums that have been through far worse than I have – how did they cope? There are also Mums who have only ever experienced the incredible delights that motherhood can also offer. They deserve somewhere to record their special times too.

We can spend hours keeping beautiful baby scrapbooks, recording all the milestone moments for these littlies but sometimes forget about ourselves and our moments. I felt that we needed a place to record and vent and remember too. I felt that we needed to be able to look back and smile at what we have enjoyed as well as what we have overcome.

So...Mummy Moments was born. I have trade marked the name and have had it beautifully designed (part of the cover is the image above). I would love it to reach as many women as possible, so it can be a treasured record book but also a tool for those who need help getting through the tougher times.

Perfect as a treat for anyone - a special/unique gift for a friend, an already busy Mum or an expectant Mum.
